By Rachel Phan Recent studies have shown that only four per cent of Americans tithe, down two per cent from last year. Groups that continue to tithe are Republicans, who tithe 12 times more than liberals, and evangelicals. For every dollar that evangelicals donate, 90 cents go to the church.
